Tracy Mesina was born and raised in San Diego, California. She has 18 years of dance experience under her belt. She began dancing as a teenager and did various styles ranging from jazz to modern to hip hop. She then found a real passion for urban dance and joined her high school dance at La Costa Canyon team as well as an extra curricular junior hip hop team called The Effect. She then moved up to an all female team out of Formailty Dance Academy called Hi Fi. This journey then lead her to a team called Choreo Cookies. Her mom then opened a dance studio called Studio 429 where Choreo Cookies would rehearse, Tracy would teach all levels of hip hop classes and also direct the junior team called Breakthrough. Tracy directed Breakthrough and danced on Choreo Cookies for 8 years. She has also taught at local San Diego studios such as Culture Shock Dance Center, Studio FX and Music Learning Center. She had also taught international workshops in countries such as Canada, Germany, New Zealand and Australia. Currently she teaches Biology at Granger Junior High and still has an immense passion for teaching dance. She teaches periodically after school and subs classes at local studios. Teaching has and always will be Tracy’s passion and she is grateful for every interaction between her and her students. In her eyes, seeing their growth is unmatched and she can’t wait to connect with more people along the rest of her dance journey.
