“Choreography shouldn’t just look good, it should feel good.” Raised in Oceanside, California, Sy Bartolome is a hard working yet light hearted choreographer and dancer. Inspired and exposed to the hip-hop dance community in 2003, Sy jump started his dance career with CSUSM’s dance club, “Jam Control”, gaining his first formal training and performance experience.
In 2004, he was referred and selected to join San Diego’s Premier All-Male Dance Company, FORMALity, where he increased his performance skills competing and exhibiting at numerous competitions and showcases throughout the west coast and Montreal, Canada. He was even been blessed enough to open up for singer/entertainer Ashlee Simpson, and appear on the Ellen Degeneres Show as well as local television station, FOX 6 News. In 2010, Sy became a member of San Diego’s internationally known hip-hop dance company, Choreo Cookies, and was blessed to share his passion for the art with his 2nd family both on a national and global level.
Sy has also choreographed and directed for numerous award winning teams and companies such as FORMALity, Vista High School’s Airbands, Flipside, Rising Star Dance Academy, Mission Hills High School’s Dance Team, North County Dance Arts, Sexy Boy Special, Breakthrough, Primary Source, Reprise Production Team, Choreo Cookies, Lost & Found, and Culture Shock Los Angeles.
Currently, Sy resides in Encino, CA and is a full-time student at California State University Northridge. He is currently completing his B.S. in Cinema and Television Arts with an emphasis in Multimedia Production. He teaches regularly at Snowglobe Perspective, North County Dance Arts and is the Creative Director of Lost & Found. He is also a member of Culture Shock Los Angeles and a choreographer/dancer for Flood Church’s Dance Impact Team, giving back and glorifying God for the gift of dance HE has blessed him with.
