Keyana Reed started dancing at the age of 5, immersed in her local home studios and freestyle community. At the age of 17, she started her high school’s first-ever hip-hop dance team and it was then, after directing and choreographing an entire showcase by herself, she discovered her true love of storytelling through choreography.
After graduating high school Keyana moved down to San Diego, California to attend San Diego State University, while also enticed by SD’s huge urban dance community. In her six years of residing in San Diego, she has been a part of several different competitive dance teams and companies including Mesa College Dance, Intrinsic Dance Company, Urbanfx and is currently on Gwownups adult exhibition team. She has also been a featured choreographer in San Diego’s Platform Dance Showcase and has produced, directed and choreographed many dance films.
Keyana believes in using dance as a platform to inspire others (especially the youth) and spread love. She enjoys fusing her passions for video art and dance to impact individuals in a positive, uplifting way. She hopes to one day be a professional director, showcasing her dance background love of dance. “Dance heals, dance is light and dance is love.”
