Sy Bartolome

 

"Choreography shouldn't just look good, it should feel good." Raised in Oceanside , California, Sy Bartolome is a hard working yet light hearted choreographer and dancer. Inspired and exposed to the hip hop dance community in 2003, Sy jump started his dance career with California State University at San Marcos’ (CSUSM) dance club "Jam Control" gaining performance experience as well as training. Sy training has included Erik Saradpon and FORMALity, Shaun Evaristo, as well as studios such as Culture Shock Dance Center, Academy of Performing Arts , TM Dance Center, Boogiezone @ Focus Dance Center, Debbie Reynolds, Millenium Dance Complex, Studio 429, to name a few.





 
In 2004, he was referred and selected to join San Diego 's Premier All-Male Dance Company FORMALity. Since then, he increased his performance skills competing and exhibiting at numerous competitions and showcases throughout California, Nevada, and Canada. He has even been blessed enough to open up for singer/entertainer Ashlee Simpson, and appear on the Ellen Degeneres Show as well as local television station FOX 6 News. Sy is known for his work and co-direction of Vista High School 's Airbands, 2004 and 2005, both years placing top three in Pepsi's Airband Finals involving high schools all throughout San Diego County . He has also choreographed for Mission Hills High's award winning Competitive Dance Team, Carlsbad High's Dance Program and Annual Spring Showcase "Dance Extreme", Vista High's Dance Program and Spring Showcase. Other local venues and schools include FORMALity, Hi-Fi, flipSIDE, Breakthrough, Rising Star Dance Company, Studio A, Temecula Dance Company, Mystic Stepper School of Dance, Studio 429; and more recently his work has been seen Australia and New Zealand.

Sy continues to freelance at various schools/studios throughout San Diego County and is continuing to expand his creativity and art in choreography, exposing his work every opportunity he gets.
