Louis Alexander McKay, Jr.

Louis was on the stage from the time he was a small boy beginning with such organizations as the San Diego Opera Company, The Bright Side, and Starlight Theaters. That training took him to Los Angeles where he was privileged to train and dance with such greats as Pat Riccco, Gower Champion, Ron Lewis, Michael Peters, Toni Stevens, Bob Sidney, Claude Thompson, Joe Tremaine, Jamie Rogers, Toni Charmoli, Jerry Grimes and Alex Plachet. This also allowed him to hone his acting skills with L.A.'s Sal Dano.


Louis held the position of lead singer and dancer as well as the choreographer for The Debbie Reynold's Show for seven years. During that time, Louis appeared with Harv Presnell, Gavin McCloud and Debbie Reynolds in a Broadway production of "Annie Get
Your Gun".
Louis also performed as lead dancer and singer for two years at the People's Choice Awards. He also performed as lead dancer on the Sandy Duncan 1976 Valentine Special, the Liberace 1977 Special, and the Bob Hope 1978 Special.

Louis' television appearances also featured him as special guest on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show, The John Davidson Show, The Mike Douglas Show, The Sonny and Cher Show and the Barbara Mandrell Show.

Louis has performed and taught Master dance and musical theater classes in 42 of our
50 states, as well as Europe and South Africa.

In 1984, Louis McKay opened Louis McKay Dance Studio in La Costa, California, later to become North County DanceArts, Inc. He has operated North County DanceArts, Inc. in the San Diego north county successfully since that time, creating a teaching facility
that is best known for its professional teaching staff and quality dance training. Dancers from beginning level to professional are taught technique, terminology, and discipline in a nurturing and fun environment.
