Jazz
THE JAZZ SYLLABUS IS AN EXTENSIVE STUDY IN THE DANCE FORM AND PREPARES THE STUDENT FOR PERFORMANCE. EACH CLASS IS GEARED SPECIFICALLY TOWARD THE RESPECTIVE LEVELS, EACH FOCUSING ON THE TECHNIQUE OF THE DANCE FORM. MOST JAZZ CLASSES DEDICATE THE FIRST SIX MONTHS SOLELY TO DANCE TECHNIQUE WHILE THE REMAINING SIX MONTHS OF THE DANCE YEAR FOCUSES ON PUTTING TECHNIQUE AND APPLICATIONS INTO A DANCE COMBINATION.

DUE TO THE BALLET ORIGINS OF JAZZ TECHNIQUE, ALL JAZZ STUDENTS OF LEVELS II AND ABOVE ARE REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN AT LEAST ONE HOUR OF BALLET TRAINING PER WEEK. BALLET REQUIREMENT MAY BE FULFILLED IN SCHEDULED NCDA BALLET CLASSES OR AT ANY ACCREDITED BALLET SCHOOL. (SEE STUDIO POLICIES REGARDING BALLET

REQUIREMENTS AND VALIDATION). NONCOMPLIANCE WITH THIS BALLET REQUIREMENT WILL RESULT IN THE WITHDRAWAL OF THE STUDENT FROM ANY JAZZ II LEVEL CLASS AND ABOVE UNTIL BALLET REQUIREMENT HAS BEEN MET AND STUDENT IS IN REGULAR ATTENDANCE.  PLACEMENT AND ADVANCEMENT OF ANY STUDENT IS AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF NORTH COUNTY DANCEARTS, INC.
