ERICA HOOPER

Erica has danced competitively in San Diego and Los Angeles since the age of three, winning top ranking and overall honors in Solo and Group categories at several National Dance Competitions, including KAR, Showstoppers, Showbiz, and more.  Erica's early dance training included such notables as Louis McKay, Sharon Keller of San Diego Dance Centre, and Dee, Dennis and Tina Caspary of Studio C in Los Angeles.  One of her fondest memories of her dance career was when, as a teenager, Erica traveled to Japan to star in the entertainment for the MLB Japanese-American Baseball Clinic.


Erica was captain of the San Diego State University Cheer Squad, as well as  Dance Team, where she earned a degree in Sociology.  She was named Rookie of the Year as
a freshman, and MVP of her senior season.  She has dance and choreographed professionally for several professional dance teams including the San Diego Charger Girls.
You can see Erica in commercials for ESPN, NFL Films, Seau's the Restaurant, and the blockbuster film hit "Bring It On". After graduating from SDSU, Erica coached for the
SDSU Dance Team, currently ranked 2nd in the nation, and also spent a season as Director of Arena Football's #1 ranked dance team, the San Diego Riptide "HeatWave Dancers".

Erica's previous teaching experience includes two years at Rising Star Dance Company
in San Diego as an award winning choreographer and instructor of Tap, Jazz and Hip
Hop. She also spends time traveling the nation as a competition judge for KAR Talent Competitions.  Erica is excited to return to the NCDA family as an instructor and to be working with one of her favorite and most memorable teachers....Louis.
